Nearly overnight Vice President Kamala Harris became the most talked about woman in politics. Unfortunately for her, being talked about does not equate to being popular.
An Atlanta Journal Constitution poll conducted shortly before President Biden withdrew from the Presidential race showed former President Trump leading Vice President Harris 51% to 46% in a theoretical match-up.
Poll numbers are expected to shift some now that a Harris nomination appears immanent. While Harris benefits from recent endorsements by Democrat elites, she has not been the primary target of any attacks this election cycle. Four years ago, Harris drew significant criticism for her performance as Attorney General during her failed Presidential campaign. Those criticisms have been rekindled in the wake of her presumptive nomination with former Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D-HI) being one of the most prominent critics.
Democrat leaders pressured Joe Biden to withdraw following his dismal debate performance. Sen. JD Vance has called out Harris for allegedly lying about President Biden’s health.
“Kamala Harris is a million times worse, and everybody knows it,” the Vice-Presidential nominee said at a rally in Ohio.
National polling showed Harris only marginally ahead of Biden in the weeks leading up to his withdrawal but still lagging significantly among key voter blocs including young voters age 18-34 and black voters.
President Trump has shown dramatic support in the African American community, especially after a Manhattan jury found Trump guilty of financial crimes related to real estate.
I voted for Trump twice and will again. I will not vote for a party with these disgusting socialist ideas who are trying to destroy our country.
