Wawa is making its long-anticipated debut in Georgia with the grand opening of its first store in the state, located in Bainbridge. On November 14th, residents in south Georgia will welcome the well-known convenience store and gas station chain at 1401 Tallahassee Highway. Doors will officially open at 8 a.m., followed by a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 9 a.m. to mark the occasion.
The opening will be celebrated with several special events, including community partnerships, local support initiatives, and Wawa’s signature “Hoagies for Heroes” program, which honors everyday heroes in the community.
“We are thrilled to begin our expansion into Georgia with our first store in Bainbridge,” said Nancy Dulaney who serves as the Director of Store Operations at Wawa. “We can’t wait to host our grand opening and look forward to bringing our unique brand of fresh food, beverages, and convenience to Georgia as we further our commitment to providing our new friends and neighbors with not only a new level of convenience but a strong, committed community partner.”
This marks a significant moment for the state as the arrival of Wawa introduces more competition into Georgia’s well-established convenience store and gas station market. While RaceTrac, headquartered in Atlanta, remains a major player, Georgia has also seen the growing presence of Buc-ee’s, which currently has two locations in the state with a third under construction.
Wawa’s entry into Georgia underscores the continued demand for variety in fuel stations and convenience stores, with its reputation for fresh food options and customer-centric service promising to shake up the local market. Bainbridge’s new Wawa will be the first of many, with further expansion expected in the coming years.
Team Bainbridge Wawa associates and management are committed to delivering exceptional customer service! We are so excited to be here in Bainbridge!

We are really excited about the opening of Wawa in Bainbridge, Ga. Real clean and the coffee is worth a trip to the store. The deli is also really good. When traveling in the state of Florida we always look for the Wawa stations. The gas prices are usually a little cheaper and a good grade of gas ⛽️
