Arthur Blank has overtaken Chick-fil-A’s Cathy siblings as Georgia’s wealthiest resident on Forbes’ 2026 ranking of the 400 richest Americans.
The Forbes 400 list places Blank at No. 99 nationally with an estimated net worth of $13.2 billion, up from $11.4 billion and No. 105 last year. The Home Depot co-founder owns the Atlanta Falcons and Atlanta United. Forbes estimates his Falcons stake alone is worth $6.7 billion.
Bubba Cathy, Dan Cathy and Trudy Cathy White are tied at No. 116, with fortunes estimated at $12 billion each. The three Chick-fil-A heirs led Georgia’s rankings in 2025, when Forbes valued each at $13.7 billion and placed them at No. 83.
Six other Georgia residents made the list. The WSB-TV breakdown places Cox Enterprises Chairman Emeritus Jim Kennedy at No. 224 with $7.6 billion and former Stryker Chairman John Brown at No. 251 with $6.9 billion. Gary Rollins and family rank No. 293 with $5.8 billion.
Mailchimp co-founders Dan Kurzius and Ben Chestnut complete Georgia’s group at Nos. 306 and 343. Forbes lists Kurzius at $5.6 billion and Chestnut at $5 billion. Together, Georgia’s nine listed billionaires hold estimated fortunes totaling about $80.1 billion.
Georgia had 10 residents on the 2025 list, including Roark Capital founder Neal Aronson at $4 billion. Aronson is absent this year, while Forbes raised the minimum fortune required for entry from $3.8 billion to a record $4.4 billion.
Nationwide, Forbes estimates the 400 members are worth a combined $8 trillion, up from $6.6 trillion in 2025. The publication calculated the rankings using stock prices from Sept. 4. Elon Musk remained No. 1 with an estimated $908 billion.
