Earlier this month, Sonny’s BBQ restaurant in Lawrenceville was engulfed in flames. The restaurant employs culinary expertise to craft an inviting, barbecue-inspired menu. This establishment, recognized for its mouth-watering dishes and ambiance, faced an unfortunate incident of fire outbreak after being struck by lightening on the evening of June 4th.

The lightening strike caused a fire in the kitchen area of the restaurant. Thanks to the quick and efficient work of Sonny’s staff everyone present left the premises safely. No individuals, either patrons or staff members, reported injuries following their safe evacuation from the building. This swift action played an integral part in ensuring their safety amidst the potential dangers the fire posed.

Despite the fire’s occurrence during operating hours, the restaurant managed to handle the situation incredibly well. The management’s quick response and subsequent emergency procedures ensured the safety of both their customers and staff members. The emergency response from Gwinnett County Fire Department was also swift and professional, with local fire departments arriving on the scene promptly and containing the fire before it could spread further.

During these challenging times, the Lawrenceville community, the customers, and Sonny’s BBQ restaurant staff members are hopeful for a quick recovery and look forward to the return of the establishment. The restaurant addresses its patrons via social media saying it hopes to reopen soon.
