Democratic Sen. Jon Ossoff of Georgia is heading to the Hamptons for a fundraising swing as speculation grows about a possible 2028 presidential bid.
Ossoff will make at least three stops Aug. 23 while raising money for his November reelection campaign, Bloomberg reported. One event will be hosted at investor Alex Soros’ home with Democratic Delaware Sen. Lisa Blunt Rochester and Hillary Clinton. Former New Jersey Gov. Jon Corzine will help host another gathering, while Galaxy Digital founder Michael Novogratz is backing a third event in Wainscott.
Novogratz told Bloomberg he has been meeting with centrist Democrats who could run in 2028. Ossoff has repeatedly denied planning a White House campaign. Vanity Fair placed him among prominent Democrats making summer fundraising trips to the Hamptons, including governors JB Pritzker, Josh Shapiro and Wes Moore.
The Georgia Democrat holds a commanding financial advantage. Federal Election Commission records show his campaign raised $77.3 million from Jan. 1, 2025, through June 30, 2026, and ended with nearly $42.6 million on hand. Bloomberg reported Republican nominee Mike Collins had raised $7.4 million.
About $39 million of Ossoff’s reelection haul came from donors giving less than $200. He has attracted larger contributions through a joint operation benefiting his leadership committee, the Georgia Democratic Party and the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee. Reported major donors include Pritzker, former Treasury Secretary Robert Rubin, business executive Ken Chenault and LinkedIn co-founder Reid Hoffman.
Collins won Georgia’s Republican runoff in June, setting up one of the country’s most closely watched Senate races. Bloomberg said outside groups have already reserved more than $42 million in Georgia advertising.
The trip serves Ossoff’s immediate reelection needs while giving wealthy national donors an early look at a Senator increasingly discussed as a possible 2028 contender.
