President Donald Trump plans to attend the Oct. 10 matchup between No. 2 Georgia and No. 6 Alabama at Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa, adding presidential attention to one of college football’s biggest games of the season.
Trump announced the visit during an Oct. 2 rally at the University of South Alabama in Mobile. “They say it’s going to be a good game,” he told the crowd. “I would think so.”
The Bulldogs and Crimson Tide enter the game 5-0 after decisive victories Saturday. Georgia beat Vanderbilt 38-14, while Alabama defeated then-No. 16 Mississippi State 56-23. The latest Associated Press poll kept Georgia second and moved Alabama from seventh to sixth.
Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Eastern on ABC. It will be Georgia’s first trip to Tuscaloosa since 2024 and the teams’ first meeting since the Bulldogs defeated Alabama 28-7 in the 2025 Southeastern Conference Championship Game.
Trump attended the same matchup in Tuscaloosa during the 2024 presidential campaign, when Alabama won 41-34. The university said that visit required coordination with the Secret Service and additional screening, and it urged fans to arrive early.
The upcoming appearance follows Trump’s attendance at the Texas-Tennessee game at Neyland Stadium in September.
Alabama’s 2026 game-day guidance already advises fans to allow extra time, review prohibited items and prepare for traffic. Drone operations are barred on campus during home games, while federal authorities establish temporary flight restrictions around the stadium.
The matchup features two unbeaten Southeastern Conference teams. Alabama has won the last two regular-season meetings, while Georgia won their most recent championship matchup. Trump’s visit adds a political and security dimension to a game carrying major conference and College Football Playoff implications.
